About Me
I'm Andrea Scott and I started Crafty in a Good Way in 2004.
I've always been interested in different crafts, but finally
figured out that dyeing and spinning yarn are just about my
favorite. I started spinning in 2006 – it has been a wonderful
addition to my life because it’s both spiritual and constructive!
I've had a lot of great teachers along the way - I'm luck to call
many of them friends!
Some people ask me about my name and how I thought of it
or what it means. Here's a typical scenario to explain: I show
someone a crafty item I've made and they say, “Wow, did you
make that? You're crafty!” and I say, “In a GOOD way!”
because, you know, no one wants to be crafty in the bad way,
right? Believe it or not, that conversation has happened
dozens of times because I'm a crafty girl and really love to
make all sorts of things.
About My Yarn
All of the yarn with my label is hand-dyed and/ or handspun by
me using lightfast and colorfast dyes. I use a variety of dyeing
techniques, making my yarn unlike any you'll find in the
marketplace.
I offer many different kinds of yarn including alpaca, wool,
mohair, silk, boucle yarns and novelty yarns. I purchase yarn
from a variety of suppliers, dye it in my home and sell it via
several regional shops, Etsy, a gallery, and also at craft fairs
and shows in Kansas and Missouri.
